Hi,
I have a bit of a problem i hope you can help me with.
I am trying to find a way to let everyone on the domain know when a scheduled administrative action (such as a server restart) is going to take place. First i thought of using email, but that has proven to be ineffective due to the fact that not everyone reads the email in time. I then though about using Windows Messaging Service to accomplish the task, but i have decided against that for 2 reasons. 1:- I don't want spam coming through (although the firewall will take care of this) and 2:- it isn't very effective or flexible as far as i can tell, i.e. broadcasting to multiple subnets etc.
My question is, does anyone know of an effective way, like a specialist program or something built into windows, of broadcasting a message to all the users in an active directory domain which has multiple subnets and will pop up notifying users immediately so that they will definitely see it?
I hope you understand what i want. Any problems please let me know.
Thank you
LJR

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

Thanks for the reply :)
I read the first link before i posted and found it didn't help, maybe i mis-understood it. However the second link was more helpful in explaining how the messaging service works.
I will give it a try and experiment.
Thanks for your help.
