Comment:

I have a desktop and a laptop communicating using a crossover cable. This worked fine when the desktop was win98 and the laptop winxp (home edition). I recently upgraded the desktop to winxp (professional) and now the two pc's no longer communicate. When I run ipconfig on either workstation I get "media disconnected". I suppose the cable could have died but I cannot easily test that. the cable has been sitting connected to both workstations without any stress so my assumption is that the cable is ok.

Any thoughts?????

thanks - feel free to email me at devraj@ix.netcom.com
