I have installed a 3 port d-link print server.
Two ports are LPT and one is USB. Sadly, one of my LPT printers died and now I'm in a bind.
My new multi-function printer is USB. Can I get a passive, no SW adapter that will allow me to plug this USB device to the LPT port on the print server? The print server drives the ports as TCP/IP Standard LWR.
Thanks and regards,

USB to LPT does not exist, only LPT to USB

The software for the print server should connect the multifunction and give it an address. Each computer then connects lpt to that address. Should be similar as using the lpt ports on the print server.

Hi,

Thanks for the tips. Now that I see there are passive HW things out there I'll look into this route. If I go with a cable I'll need a USB connector on the end of the cable for the device, not one for a PC slot so I hope to find a simple adapter that plugs to the 25 pin LPT port on the server and provides a PC-side USB slot so I can use a standard USB-device cable.
Thanks and regards,
