I'm using a windows 2000 pro computer as a file server. It has 2 80 gig hd's and a 120 running from a pci card. Every time I try to access it on one particular XP computer it locks up xp. I bring up task manager and says not responding... I go to process and end task explorer, then restart it and all is well for a while. I try to access it again a bit later and same thing. Then I reset explorer and works again. This is strange. Now I went into windows 2000 and added the user name and password "of the problem XP box" to the users list in 2000 and the problem disappeared! Do I need to do this for every machine I connect to the 2kpro box? My XP box used to just ask for user name and pass before loggin onto 2kpro box.
