Hiya guys,
I want to install a mail server that will allow me to do the following:
I have my own .com doamin. I presently have only one email address that everyones writes to and everyone in the office gets. Whenever anyone in the office writes out, we all use the same single email address aswell obviously.
I was thinking that if i install a mail server i could create a mail address for each user in my LAN. Would that be possible, desite only having one external email address from my ISP?
How do i best achieve this without going down the windows domain and excahnge server road. I only hve a workgroup LAN, not a domain.

Are you familiar with Linux? If so, I would suggest setting up an SME server. It will give you the ability to act similar to an old NT4 domain controller, mail server with web access piece, and file server. Because its open source, there wouldn't be any licensing fees.

SME Server is its own complete linux install. Its a complete install in other words.
As for your "only one email address". If you have a domain name registered, all you need to do is have your registrar point your mx record at your server (your ip address as given to you by your isp) Then you can create as many email addresses as you want. One for each user on your domain.
