Can anybody please tell me how to network Windows XP Pro and Mac OS 7.1 (on and LC575) without using a hub? I just need to do this for basic file transferring. I don't know too much about networking, so any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Yeah, I've got the cable, but what I need is to get my Mac to access files on my PC. I need to do this with the tools and apps built into the OSes, I just don't know how.

I've never done it before, but I think you need a program like Appletalk on your WinXP PC. This should let the two computers share files.
