I've got a few PC's sharing a DSL connection through a basic router/hub. A mac user has moved in and would like to share DSL as well. Anyone know how to set it up? Is all the work on the Mac end or what do I set on the PC/router end?
I would have thought you dont need to do anything. I share my connection through a router and as long as the pc/mac is set to "DHCP" you should be fine.

S is right in what he is saying...On the Mac, all you need to do is set the TCP/Network setting s to DHCP (providing your router supports DHCP on your local network side). If it doesn't, make sure your Mac is setup with the appropriate IP, netmask, gateway and DNS servers. THE GATEWAY MUST BE SET!! When it has these settings entered, try pinging one of the boxes on your local network and a DNS name eg. www.yahoo.com, if they reply, you can surf the net :-).
