I have a d-link dsl-g624m wireless router, wher e I have set up a wep key , everything works fine, now need to add another machine, but have forgotten what the key was, logging onto the router , just shows the key as a series of asterisks, is there anyway of finding out what the hex key is, on a previous netgear router u could see the key when logged on as admin etc

WEP keys are easily defeated. You can reset it just by using a small pin in the router rear hole between the power feed and the 1st lan socket, you'll need to put back in all of your settings afterwards.

thanks, whilst I know i can set a new key, or go back to factory settings, my question was rather whwn u log onto the router as admin, why arent all the settings on the router available to you. It seems strange that the key is asterisked out. Does anyone know how to see it in plain text. (or Hex)
