I am new to 802.11b networking, and am having a problem with wireless access on my W2K pro box. The W2K pro box has a d-link 520+ wireless PCI card, and is connected to a D-link 604+ ADSL wireless router. Also connected to the router is an XP home box which functions correctly at all times.
My problem is that every 20 minutes my W2K box loses internet connectivity. The PC is still able to ping the XP home box when internet connection is lost, meaning that the wireless connection is not lost completely (i.e TCP/IP still functions). After internet activity is lost, the W2K box can no longer ping the router!
My signal strength is 68% and my link quality is 100%.
I am not sure exactly how the wireless cards work, but is it possible that the card coulb be faulty, bearing in mind that I do not completely lose the wireless connection, and only internet traffic is dropped?
Any advice is more than welcome!

It is possible that the router or the wireless card is faulty... if it was working properly in the past and is now not working... or has never worked you may want to see if the same thing happens when you put that wireless card in the winXPP machine... if the same issue happens then chances are the router or the card is faulty...
Generally if connection to the router is lost yet the connection is still present then something has gone wrong with the router...

Wireless PCI has always been a problem, get rid of it, us USB wirless. I see this problem in the field all of the time. It only gets worse with XP.
