I recently purchased the new 54G Linksys router (WRT54G) and a wireless adapter card for my laptop. Most of the time I get a good signal from the router, but for the past couple of nights I've had my connection dropped suddenly.....I'm not able to re-connect.....have to shut down. I'm not moving around the room and before I am dropped have a signal strength of 60%. Is there any reason why I would suddenly lose connection? I am not using a wireless phone, microwave, etc. at the time the problem happens. I use MAC address filtering for security.

Thanks,
James

Does it happen around the same time every night?

And how is your laptop's battery?

I really haven't paid attention to the exact time, but I would say it happens about the same time.
In both cases, I was using AC power rather than the battery.

If it happens almost always around the same time it oculd be the power company changing transformers on the grid.
