We have several gateway laptops (2 yrs old) with the Intel 2100 3b wireless cards that are having problems connecting to our school network and access points.. we have updated the drivers , reinstalled the drivers, and when it does connect the speed is less then 5Mbps and the access points are 54Mbps. any ideas?

Wireless speed can be influenced by many things. Some of these items are:

1) Compatability between NIC and Access Point. I've had problems here several times.

2) Walls, floors, etc.

3) Microwaves, cordless phones, etc.
