Lose IP address for wireless connection

When my laptop sits idle and goes into sleep mode once I wake it my internet IP address is lost and I can't get online. The connection still shows as "connected" and signal strength strong but the IP address changes to all zeros. The only way I've figured to fix it is to reboot my laptop which is annoying. Is there another way to add my IP address in order to get my wireless internet back up on my laptop?

You could open a command prompt window (ie: Start >> Run >> type cmd and hit Enter) and then enter the following command:

ipconfig /renew

This will rerequest an IP from the DHCP server.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
