Loosing connection from a DHCP router

Specs: Windows Vista
We are in a hotel that allows us to use their router with a Hawking 300N expander. We seem to lose connection each time their router gets a new IP address. The router seems to lose connection frequently. Is there a setting in the expander that will allow the expander to "follow" the DHCP address of the router without having to take it down and go thru the setup each time.

I have to think your diagnosis is not correct.

When you say router gets a new ip address that refers to its wan port. Your expander has no knowledge of its wan port so this does not apply.

Your expander only knows about the routers wifi lan.

"The router seems to lose connection frequently"
How frequently? Most dhcp scopes are in days not hours though a hotel maybe.

Is the expander getting a ip address?
Is it a dhcp address?

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

Thank you for your reply. You are correct. We came to a similar conclusion after discussion. The expander has worked well for a couple of days now so we have decided that it was a line trouble outside of the hotel, as others in the area were also having issues with the internet. Thanks again for your information.
