Hi, I am currently trying to set up a network within my home. There are two laptops and a PC involved. The two laptops are wireless and the PC is attached (via ethernet cable) to a broadband router. We can all access the internet and the two laptops have access to each other's shared documents however we can't access the PC area. When selecting the PC icon from within "my network places" on the laptop, a message comes up saying we do not have permission to access the computer. Also it says "Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer". Considering i am the administrator for the computer i am stumped by this! How do i let the laptops have access to my files, including printer? Can anybody help?

Does your desktop PC have XP Home or XP Professional? Same question for the laptops. If Professional, are you using simple file sharing? What logon(s) are failing (look in the desktop's security log)?
