Specs: server 2003
i installed server 2003 on a virtual machine and
made the 1st domain home.local. then i
installed exchange server 2003 succesfully
and gave my users mail boxes. when i started
outlook as the users i realized their email was
XXXX@home.local.

how do i keep the .local domain. and add a
new .com domain for emails on the same
server

You need a Static and Public IP then Register the IP with ICANN for the domain name you would like (MYMAIL.COM). Then setup a email relay server in you DMZ and tie your Exchange with it.

Better to have your ISP do it for you and just tie into their email relay.

Oh and none of this is free unless you use a webmail like gmail and sync with it.
