Hiya ppl.
My network consists of 2 pc's networked via ethernet using a crossover cable.
the main pc is in the front room, and has the internet connection, the other is in the bedroom, and obviously uses the front room to acess the internet.
Both pc's are running xp pro service pack 1.

Is there a way I can be in the front room, and "listen" to the bedroom using it's microphone?
It would be a temporary setup, because i'd like to use it to hear if my baby starts crying, until I purchase a baby monitor. I use the webcam during day to keep an eye on her but sadly i don't have night vision on it lol, so if it's possible, using the mic would suffice.
any ideas, would be gratefully recieved.

Try using Remote Desktop (built into XP Pro). There is an option to "Bring Over" the remote computer sounds. However, this *might* only work for the Windows event sounds - I have never tried it with other audio inputs. But, it would be easy enough to try.

hi michael j, maybe I should have used my brain a little lol, what i did was, i signed into my messenger in the bedroom, and signed into my partners messenger in the front room, then i started an audio conversation, which allowed me to "listen" lol. i did mute the front room so as to mute any noise going to the bedroom, but never the less, it did the job. a 2 second delay is nothing, so i am using that option as it was easiest.
Many thanks for the reply, and maybe it could help another in a similar situation.
Logic was the answer here hehe.
Thanks again.
