Hello Everyone! I have a problem that my linux PC (kubuntu 8.04) is not detecting network printer. Let me explain the problem in detail. I have many computers in my office, all installed with windows xp except my own PC (which has kubuntu 8.04). I have two PCs in my room, one with windows xp and one is this with kubuntu. The problem is that my linux PC is not detecting the printer attached with the other Windows PC but my PC can detect all other printers in my office. All PCs are connected with a router. Can anyone help me that why my PC is not detecting that printer? Thanks

Assumes the network and ports are correct too. If domain then you may have to get ldap tools.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

If the printer is setup as a share (like a file/folder) and the permissions are set on the XP machine for the linux box to connect to it, and at LEAST smbfs is installed, you should be able to install the drivers on linux for the printer to work fine.
