I am unable to connect to any type of Counter-Strike server when using my linksys router. No this isn't a stupid noob question like everyone else out there. I've tried literally everything. I've read TONS of messages boards and all of them say "omg just forward your ports" or "omg noob use DMZ" ... no neither of these works. I've tried a billion times. I can't even connect to a server, it just sits there and retires 4 times and disconnects ... this is Counter-Strike 1.5 ... And don't tell me to use cs1.6 ... I want to play 1.5. It works just find when I'm plugged in directly to the cable modem, bad news is I can't do that because I have other people at my house doing it. This all seemed to happen after I got my new comp. But I've also always had a problem with multiple computers being in the same game (everyone gets disconnected if on the same server). But my question is, what could it be? ... Things I've tried:

- Forwarding ports
- Connecting ethernet cable to different router plugin
- DMZ
- Plug directly in to cable modem (works, but not an option for me)

I'm guessing there's some different things I can try in Windows? Beats me. Thanks for any help.

Are you using WinXP? Check to see if the firewall is enables in your network connectin settings. This wont let the game server run data to your PC.

Hopefully it's that simple. If not, Play cs 1.6! :)
