Hello, I am having a problem with my linksys WRT54G router. I reset the router to "factory settings" because I wanted to reconfig my wireless settings etc. I renamed my network to what I wanted and set a WPA password. The problem is that I see my new name AND linksys as a name on my list. The new name I created is 36Mbps and the linksys is 54mbps. WHY IS IT SHOWING BOTH?

Are you sure you aren't observing a "profile" entry in your local wireless settings? Can you click on it and delete?

Your router is not broadcasting two ssid's so there is nothing wrong with your router.

try a refresh wireless networks and see if the old one goes away...!!!

and/or maybe one of your neighbors has one setup and it's just the defaults with no security...that may explain the linksys SSID!!!
