Trying to set up a Linksys BEFSR41 wired router using a Comcast Broadband connection. I also need advice on how to connect my Ooma telephone in this type of setup since I need to connect the phone system to the internet and my computer. I tried to install the router using the computers install program and got nowhere. Any help (especially the step-by-step variety) would be much appreciated.

Did you read the router's manual/setup guide?

It describes how to connect it (physically) and set it up to get it working.

Every SOHO Router I've ever worked on, and I've worked on Linksys, requires you to connect a PC to a LAN port on the router. You then open a web browser and type the IP address of the router (found in the setup guide/manual) in the URL field and hit Enter.

That connects you to the management interface.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.
