Comment: Having a strange problem. Here is my setup: Home network w/ 2 pc's. Linksys 4 port dsl router Whenever I try to open a large email attachment (over 1 MB) I notice that the router restarts itself. This was not a problem before I put the router in. I will be checking for a firmware update, but was wondering if anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reply: (edit)It might have to do with the size of the MTU value. First try updating the firmware, if that doesn't work you might have to tinker with the MTU value. Reply: (edit)It also happens when i try to open an RDP session. I can get to the desktop, but then the router restarts. I have not been able to find this problem on the Linksys web site.

Reply: (edit)Wow...What an ordeal! I upgraded the router's firmware to 1.50.18. I was then able to receive large email attachments and log in remotely. However, I then discovered that I could not access certain web sites. I spent hours going over my DNS server, my network connection setup, windows updates, etc. only to find this firmware version has caused this issue with tons of people. I'm going back to an older version to see what happens. Good web site: www.broadbandreports.com
