Hi all -
I have BEFSR41 that works just fine. I noticed there is a firmware (dated 6/24/2003) available for this model. What is the correct way to obtain and apply this?
Do you go into the Linksys utility http://192.168.1.1/ > help > Upgrade firmware, or do you download the file then follow Linksys KB on "How to upgrade the firmware on the Router?"
By the way how do I get the icon for Linksys for my desktop?

You should go to the Linksys Web site and select the correct model of router you have. For the BEFSR41 there is the v1 and v2 units which share the same firmware code, and the newer v3 units which have different firmware.
The download package has the update file, instructions and the update program to run, in a ZIP file.
Why would you want an icon for the linksys router? Unless you mean an icon that brings up your browser with a link address of the Router. For that you could just add a Favorites link in the browser and then drag it out to the DeskTop.
