Why would you want to forward all ports, all 64738 of them? Do you really want to send out an open invitation to every hacker in the world to hijack your computer.

Port forwarding is usually done on specific ports for specific reasons, usually when you are expecting unsolicited connection attempts as would be the case if you were running some kind of server.

If you are not running a server there is no need to forward ports. What is it you are trying to achieve?

I have removed you Email address for your own good. Publishing an Email address on an open forum is an invitation to spammers to fill your in box with junk and with junk comes viruses and other mall-ware.

Besides, the idea is that you ask a question, someone answers it and everyone can see the answer and learn something. Personal answers cost money.

You don't just pick a port at random, you use a specific port for the purpose you are intending to use it for. Either a designated port for the protocol you are using, FTP,HTTP, SMTP plus many others. The wrong port is as bad as no port at all. What is it you are trying to do?

Your router manual will tell you how to forward ports. You direct the port to a particular computer in your network.

Do you need to open a port or to forward a port. They are two different things. Forwarding a port automatically opens it. I suspect you just need to open a port. What is this programme you are trying to run?

If you cannot achieve what you are trying from reading your routers manual there is nothing I can say that can make an difference. You pick a port and direct it to the IP address of the computer the application is running on.

You are using a router? If so, what model?

You cannot forward a port to a remote host, it is not possible.

You only forward ports from your router to a computer on your network unless the host server is on your network.

I think you should be looking under port triggering in your routers manual.

I have a feeling that you are misunderstanding what you need to do. Random ports just do not work, it has to be a specific port determined by the application you are using. Port forwarding is a simple operation the the manual is clear on how to do it. If it isn't working then there is something you are not telling me.

I don't have team view and I have no intention of getting it.

What is he programme you are using?

Look at port triggering which I think is what you need, not port forwarding.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_t...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_f...

Post the instructions where it says you need to forward a random port.

I too have the exact same problem. I am trying to run a halo CE dedicated server. When setting up the server, you manually input the port the program is to use. I went as far as to shut off the firewall in the router, and put the pc the server is running on in a dmz. The ports are still closed (according to http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/o... I cannot get any ports to open.
