I have a Linksys BEFSR41 router w/4 ports. From home I use the router to connect (DSL/Westell modem) to my office via VPN uswing Aventail VPN Adapter. I have 3 girls staying with me that work for the same company.
Here is the problem... Only 2 of us can connect via Aventail or to the internet at one time. I know the ports are all good because before connecting to VPN on any of the laptops I tested all of the ports with my laptop... bypassing the proxy server. I was able to connect no problem. Now that I have one laptop connected via VPN I have "dead ports" on the router that can't be used to connect to VPN or outside of the proxy server as a direct connection to the internet. I tried to log into my router to check its settings, but I'm not able to get in no matter which connected machine I use. Any ideas about what I can do to get it so all 4 of us can connect via VPN at the same time? Since we often need to work from home at the same time it would be great if someone could help here.

Why are you using a free vpn client software? You should be using the vpn client that came with the VPN device at work.
Why are your routing your lan traffic thru a proxy and a router?Your vpn limit may be at the work end and have nothing to do with your router.
"I tried to log into my router to check its settings, but I'm not able to get in no matter which connected machine I use"
Looks like you are going from good to worse.
I would suggest a router that is capable and compatable with the one at work so that you can make a site to site vpn link. That is one vpn tunnel all four of you can use to access work.
Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Hi. Thanks for the response. Aventail is the VPN software that my company mandates we use. The previous login software we used was ROVA and the change to Aventail is recent.
The proxy is set up by my office as well. We have intranet at work. They allow us to connect to the company's intranet sites with no restriction but use the proxy to disallow access to what they deem to be 'inappropriate' sites.
The Linksys router was provided by them as well, but it is not a mandate that I use this router. Is there another one you would recommend I use?
