Hello,

I've setup wireless networks before, but this is my first using a cable modem (Comcast). Here's the equipment I'm using:

Arris Touchstone TM502G/H Modem (issued by Comcast)

Linksys WRT54G Router

I'm going through Linksys's wizard. Get to step 9 where it's asking me to select an "Network Type". My options are:

DHCP
PPPOE
Static IP
PPTP
L2TP
TELSTRA

In the past, I used PPPOE for DSL service. What network type do you select for cable?

Thanks,
Chris

Does your ISP assign you a static IP number?

If they do enter the number under static IP and use it for the machine with the initial firmware installation.

If you are using obtain IP address automatically as instructed to do so by your ISP then you are probably right.

Its not PPPOE, PPTP, TELSTRA, OR L2TP.
