ive been looking for the same thing in a router for ages... right now the only way tot do it is via a computer server.. there is software that can control which IP gets what, and at what speed... but wiht your linksys, you are out of luck...

i was reading on engadget the other day.. and i saw a multimedia router coming soon, taht does a little of this and that... looked pretty intense...

i would think there would be more out there! i need a way to control connection speeds based on IP address... and also order QOS, if i am on, i get 100, if i am on and someone else, me 50/50, if me and two others me 50/25/25
someday

You need to go the QoS (quality of service) on your router, i do believe its through the Gaming part of your router firmware. 192.168.1.1 then go to your Gaming and Applications, then you should see a QoS option. Click that and you will be able to edit how much bandwidth you can use and stuff.

http://www.sveasoft.com/ This is where you can download some firmware to your router, you have to pay 20 dollars for a year subscription, but its worth it. The firmware is really nice, it makes it more for an administrator use.

According to http://www.hyperwrt.org/wiki/QoS , HyperWRT's QoS is only configurable on a per-protocol basis.

Have you posted to the HyperWRT forum for help? You might get better answers there.
