Comment: I am trying to setup a wireless network connection for my laptop. I have a Linksys router and my main PC wired into that and it connects fine. I have connected my laptop to the wireless connection fine when it is unsecured. However, whenever I add the security the laptop will conect but not be assigned an IP address. It tells me I have limited or no connectivity. Can anyone give me a few pointers please. Thank guys

Reply: (edit)Are you using the linksys software to configure the adapter or windows xp to configure it? If using the linksys software you will have to make sure that windows does not try and configure it. Go to network connections, right click on your wireless connection and click on the wireless networks tab. Remove the tick from "Use windows to configure my wireless network" if its there. Go to start > run and type services.msc Find the service "Wireless Zero Configuration" and change the startup type to disabled. Restart the PC and as long as u have the security settings in the linksys software ok then it should keep the connection for you. Otherwise, try using windows to configure
