I have connected two computers through a switch, one is sharing a broadband connection with the other. All worked well for about two weeks, then for no apparant reason i got a "limited or no connectivity" warning on the computer with the internet connection. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the network card (which by the way is a netgear fast ethernet adaptor... dunno if that helps). I've also tried installing the patch for service pack two which is supposed to fix this problem... also to no effect.
When i first installed the network i had this problem, but all i did to fix it was run the network setup wizard that comes with XP on both computers and that fixed it. Tried doing that again (many times) but again, no effect. Please help... i'm getting computer rage.

As a side note i've also tried just getting rid of the warning which was suggested last month by someone in another post.
Cheers,

Tim

**UPDATE**

OK so i can now connect between computers, but i'm still getting the "limited or no connectivity" warning, and still no internet connection to the other computer.
I have also tried winsock and some other registry cleaning type programs to see if the problem is there... but no help.

Have you enabled internet sharing?
Try disconnecting modem from telephone socket , on reconecting go to cmd & type ipconfig>/release, then ipconfig>/ renew.
Make sure that in internet options you have never dial a connection both pc's. Also client for ms networks ticked ditto internet protocol (tcp/icp)
My knowledge of networking is somewhat limited but that's what I did with a simular problem
