hey guys.. so idono whats going on.. my connection has been "limited or no connectivity" for a while now.. and my internet was pretty slow.. i tried to fix it and posted a post on a different site.. but still nothing.. now just recently my internet has almost totally crapped out on me.. it takes forever to load a page.. if it ever does.. sometimes i have to try and reload the page about 5 times before it finaly just randomly loads.. as far as i know the downstairs computer (win98SE) works fine.. i have the (wireless) router and cable modem hooked up to this computer... its really weird.. because my AIM, Mirc, and counterstrike work fine.. no lag no high pings.. but my internet is freaked out.. i took a few pictures and i can take more of anything you guys need to see.. The screenshots you posted show two network connections. One is a USB cable modem. This is the one that shows "limited or no connectivity". The other is a regular network card. Normally you would not use both of these types of connections to connect to the Internet. That you are using both indicates there might be a problem with your setup.
How is your computer connected to the Internet? Is it directly connected to a cable modem, or are you using a broadband router?
Hi there, I work for a networking company and these are very sample problem that you are facing. This is a Windows XP's SP2 bug. Go through the simple steps and you would not face this problem in the future.
1. Right ckick on the local area connection and go to properties in the Network connection's. 2. just above the OK and the cancle buttons you will find " Notify me when there is limited or no connectivity". Uncheck this box and then restart the computer. -- Do IPconfig on the computer. -- If you get a good ipaddress " great". -- Else -- If you are using a router. -- Then -- Reset the router and reconfigure it.
And tell you what it works for both wired and wireless connections.
