Here is an explaination of how subnetting works....
11111111.11111111.11111111.11111111
This is the total number of available subnets. You much remove the right most 1 every time. Each time you do you get double that amount of hosts but your subnets avaiable are cut in half....lemme explain
11111111.11111111.11111111.11000000 6 0's 2^6 = 192 or a /26 (26 1's)
So your subnet would be 255.255.255.192
you also would have 64 host because each time that you have a 1 in the last octet you devide by 2...does this help...lemme know

Hey Ryan, Do not make Daniel confuse. You are talking about /26 subnet. He asked for /23 subnet mask which include two class C's.

this is what you would get if you called msn tech support. 255.255.255.252 for the subnet
