Laptop won't identify the internet at apt

Specs: Vista
My computer is a thinkpad with vista and when i go home to my wireless internet it connects just fine. When i go on campus to use wireless internet it also works just fine. But when i am at my apartment using a Netgear wireless adaptar connected to broadband cable provider. my computer just keeps telling me that the connection is unidentified and I have to use my ethernet cable all the time. I have two roommates that connect just fine (one has a macbook the other has xp). what do I??? thanks!

Make sure your password is correct and try reconfiguring your connection, also make sure the router is allowing you to access it.
