Hi All, Have an odd problem with an xp laptop wonder if anyone can help?

It's a work laptop that I also use at home. Recently it died with a missing or corrupt system error. I successfully repaired it using xp recovery and could logon fine at home. However, when I take it to work and try to logon to the domain it come up with "Windows can not connect to the domain either because the domain controller
is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not
If I turn the wireless connection off and logon to my laptop, turn wireless back on then I can connect to the domain and have full access to files etc!

My computer name hasn't changed, but could I have done something to mean it's lost its dns settings or something in repairing xp?

Unfortunatley our system admin guy isn't in for a couple of weeks and I don't have access to the DC.

Thanks in advance for any help!

If you did a repair, you'll have to redo the latest service pack and all MS updates for your OS. If you haven't done that, do so and then try logging in again and see if you don't have better luck.

Also, check your TCP/IP settings at work. You might not have a proper DNS address. Without it, your laptop can't connect to the DC and be properly authenticated.
