I have an old laptop which has no cd-rom drive or operating system. I would like to install windows 98se on it. Is there a way to do so using other pc's? (I don't want to track down any floppies on ebay, and I am unable to install the network card on the laptop without 1st having an OS).
Thanks in advance
Chris

They sell external CDROM drives that attach to the parallel port or USB port. You'll then need to make a boot disk that will boot to drive using the right driver. Ask the sales person if the drive provides a DOS driver. Then you can use a Windows boot disk to prep and format the drive, sys the drive, then install the CDROM driver.
