Laptop wireless card cannot Refresh

I have laptop with Atheros 5005 G wireless card in built. It ised to tonnect all access points to my routers/ hotspots etc. I have XP SP2 running. Recently I cannot see any access points in network list. I enabled/disabled windows zero confing utility but no avail. When I go to refresh network list it cannot find any outers, just says check if Wireless Switch is ON. i checked using laptop manfg connectivity doctor and wireless is ENABLED. It appears that i lost ability of my atheos card somehow. I reinstalled drivers and XP device manager says it is working properly. Any suggestions
