I just moved and was without internet for over a week. During that time I was able to access some unsecured wireless networks in the building. I just had Comcast installed today. Since I only have a laptop it was installed to my laptop. The wired connection works fine, but now I cannot access wireless internet. The wireless networks I was able to access prior to the installation no longer show up. When I try to "connect to network" it says I am connected to Network (the wired line) but Windows cannot find any additional networks. When I unplug the ethernet cable from my computer, it says Windows cannot find any networks. I tried searching for solutions but didn't have much luck. I searched for a wireless switch but there isn't one. I tried hitting FN and F2 but nothing happens (I'm not sure if some sort of menu is supposed to pop up but it doesn't seem like its registering anything when I hit them).

Ok I have to ask, why do you care...you have a wired solution??

Anyhow, I would bet the reason is, when they enabled your NIC (for the hardwired connection), they disabled the wireless NIC or shut it off (if you have an external on/off switch for the wireless NIC)

Hi, i would go into control panel, network connections and see if your wireless is disabled, if it is, enable it, then search for networks in range.
