I have a Netgear wireless router. It's been working fine for about 4 or 5 years. I'm having and issue with my laptop. Everyday I have to recycle the power on the router in order for my laptop to find it.
Anything suggestions?
BTW - The desktop in the house works fine.
Laptop is a LatD520 running Win XP

Is the desktop connected wirelessly or wired?

I had a similar problem with a Netgear wireless access point. I had to power cycle it constantly to get it to work. I replaced it with (not a netgear) new access point, and my problems went away.
