Hi, my dad just bought a brand new Toshiba A135 laptop from the U.S. We live in Canada. However it does not connect to our wireless home network. I know I have it set up right because my Macbook does connect wirelessly without problems. When I click to connect to my home network, it says "Windows Cannot Connect to MyWLAN" (MyWLAN is my home network). When I click "Diagnose the Problem", it still can't connect and says "Wireless association failed due to an unknown reason". No matter how much I retry, it just will not connect. Without the ability to connect wirelessly, there's no point having the laptop so I was wondering if someone can point me towards a resolution. Thanks so much.

I don't know whether you can check the region for your wireless.
The countries use different frequences for wireless connection.

So, if you can't check the country setting in your wireless driver setting, would recommend to completely uninstall the driver, restart the Laptop and install the wireless driver again.

After a fresh installation, the driver will ask for all the neccessary settings.

Thanks for replying. I think you are absolutely right. Is there a specific way I can check the region settings? And how would I go about uninstalling the driver? I am asking this because I do not want to delete something I am not supposed to.

First try to change the setting for the region in the properties of the wireless network card.

This can be done by rightclick on "My Network Places" / propertiies.
Now you'll get a list of the installed network cards.

Now click configure button and then advanced.
You'll get a list of parameters that can be adjusted.

Search for the "Regional Domain" or something like that and change the setting and click OK.

Now try to connect again.
If it didn't work, try a restart and see what happens.
