When I first purchased this dell. I would turn it on and it would look for Wireless networks and I was able to connect NO problem at all. Then I started using it for regular cable modem access through ethernet.
I have tried recently to get it to work for wireless at multiple different network spots.
The wireless seems not to work at all. It never finds networks even though there are networks.....in the network settings...there are errors. (I am never connected either)
One of the errors is "No Wireless Adapater found" -
HELP - I will give as much help as I can.

Some laptops have a switch somewhere to turn on/off the wireless NIC. I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
its a 640M from Dell...I don't see a switch
On a Dell, try holding Fn and press F2. If that's not it, there IS a switch to turn off the wireless. I learned that by mistake. Usually it is Fn and F2.
it might be as simple as going to "Show all connections", right clicking wireless network connection, and clicking enable.
