You need to do configuration of the wireless adapter of your laptop for wireless network.

For that check the following website :

What do you mean the desktop that has the router is a Comapaq? Do you mean it's physically connected to the modem/router with an ethernet cable?

Did you configure the wireless connection on the laptop to connect using the code on the bottom of the modem/router?

@ Shashin
It says I need "The Microsoft Broadband Networking Setup CD-ROM" I don't have that...

@ Jennifer
The desktop is physically connected with a 3 foot gray ethernet cable.

I do not know how to configure it...

Right-click on the wireless icon in the system tray.

If you see the connection in the Wireless networks list, click connect, you should then be prompted for the key to connect to the modem.

What happens after you enter the code and confirm it?

What color is the wireless light on the modem? And is it solid or blinking?

When I enter the WEP it says "Connected with limited Usability" I just tried using Network Magic, and couldn't fix it. One of the main problems is I can't access my router settings...

So what about the lights? What happens when you open IE on the Compaq and enter the modem's IP? You're really not providing much information...just bits here and there.

The lights do what they are supposed to, the are solid mostly, and blink partially. When I enter the modems IP I can't access my internet settings because it asks for a Password and User name, which I don't have.

If you enter the modem's IP in IE's address bar, it should prompt you for login. Try admin and admin. If that doesn't work, reset the modem and try again.

I have tried Admin Admin, Admin Pass, Admin Password, Administrator Pass, Administrator Password. Nothing seems to work, but reset my router I assume you mean Turn it on and then off? I have, and that doesn't seem to do anything. I think I have to get a new router, so I will add it to the list of things I am going to buy...

Did you try admin lowercase?

By reset, I mean reset, not power-cycle. :)

There's a reset button on the back of the modem. You'll need a pencil or pen to press it in, and hold for 30 seconds.

Your ISP would be able to help you with this as well if they are the ones who gave you the modem.

Spending money on a new device is a little extreme, but it's your money. :)

I will try the reset button, and I tried every variation of admin ever. Thank you for your help, but I think I need a new router anyways, Westell routers suck...

Yay! I called Westell and they gave me a key to reset my pass! I can access my internet settings now! Now, what can I do?
