i have connected two pc's over a crossover cable... i can access my client pc's contents and the client pc can access the host.. but it's very damn slow... if i transfer a 500kb file it takes a few minutes and says it cant transferred.... even accessing the contents takes a while.. it's like the transferrate between the two pc's is some 3kb/s or something... i have disabled firewalls in both pc's.... both connections are in connected status not limited connectivity and i have assigned ip addresses manually on both connections... what is the prob??

Check your nic card settings for speed and duplex , they "must" match on both sides . If one side is hardcoded to 100/full then the other side must be hardcoded also it cannot be set as auto .
