Comment: Hey all, Just bought this MOBO in a real $heap deal. http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_spec_details_r_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=1982&CATEGORY_TYPE=MB&SITE=NA Am going to start building tonight at home and won't have access to net till i'm done. What is the difference in the two LAN features below and which should i use? "nVIDIAŽ nForce2 MCP and ICS1893 Phy chips" I'm currently running a Motorola cable modem and using a cheap NIC card from the cable company (cough "criminals").

Reply: (edit)Ok got the computer running fine (2500xp running @ 200FSB = 3200xp). WinXP sees the on board Nvidia Lan but I can't connect to the internet (!). I snooped around in the BIOS and noticed that there's a place to insert a MAC address. Do I need to input my Motorola's cable modem MAC address here? If i do, why didn't I have to with the NIC card in my old system? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 1T
