Hi, I have a problem with my wireless network. I own two computers and I purchased a wireless router so both of them could access the internet. One of my computers connects directly to my wireless router through a cable and my second computer connects to my wireless router using a USB wireless network adapter. I could go online with both of them but I cannot set up a local network between the two (sharing files/printer etc.) I tried to trace the other computer through its IP but no luck of detecting it. I'm running Windows XP Pro. Is there anyway I can set up a local area network in this situation?

I appreciate and look forward to a response, thanks.

Windows XP Pro has a built-in software firewall - make sure it's disabled if you want local network functionality.

Make sure you turn off the built-in firewall on the internal (LAN) nic only. Then be sure you create shares, ping them and off you go.
