I can not see computers on the WAN connected to my LAN but they can see the LAN. They connect via ISDN to my lan and can see all servers (most nt4) and computers attached to it but I can not see theres! I can ping them but their computers and printers are invisible in my network places/entire network/ms network/ It appears that their names are not being resolves from their ip address. Any suggestions?

Seeing how you have multiple versions of Windows, you probably need NetBEUI enabled. NetBEUI is the protocol Windows used to use for name resoluition. In addition to enabling NetBEUI you will also need to enable NetBEUI over TCP/IP. That will allow the names to not only resolve on the LAN side but WAN side as well.

That is what I thought but the computers on the WAN are mainly 2000 and few of them are xp pro and they dont support Netbios anymore but I know that there is a version of it on the XP cd - is this the same case with 2000, or can i use the one on an xp cd? One problem that we have, is that we have no xp cds - they are all restore cds! 2000 is'nt a problem because I have loads of them.
The primary domain controller is on NT 4 server still and I was wondering if you know whether the master browser needs configuring and if netbios needs to be on that. I am getting rid of all 95/98 ones, only 3 left so It should be an NT only network soon.
