LAN behind 2 routers

July 10, 2009 at 07:49:15
Specs: Windows XP
I have a normal sitecom modem/router that is connected to: PC-1, PC-2 and a wireless linksys router. The router connects to PC-3 (by cable) and wireless to my laptop. Before I added the router PC- 1, 2 and 3 could see and share among each other through LAN/"my network places". However, this is no longer the case. How do you make it possible for all PC's to share files through LAN, in the given situation?

disable dhcp on router2
assign it a static ip address in your router1 lan range
exclude that ip from the router1 dhcp scope
use a crossover cable from router1 lan port to router2 lan port.
now all three pcs are back in the same subnet and can see each other.
