Comment: I am hoping some computing guru can help! I have a PC in one part of the house with a DSL connection. In another part of the house I have a second PC connected to the Internet by USB wireless receiver. Connected to the second PC I have a video surveillance system wired to its LAN port, all works well. My question: Is it possible for me to access the Video surveillance susytem from the remote computer by creating some kind of bridged connection between the LAN and USB networks? Any help appreciated...

Reply: (edit)"I have a second PC connected to the Internet by USB wireless receiver" Connected to what? If both are going to the same router yes you can network them. If to two different isp sources you will have to look into a vpn between the two. Then you could use RDP to connect to pc2 from pc1 Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Reply: (edit)Sorry for lack of clarity. The sencond PC is connected by USB wireless to a wireless router on the 1st PC (lINKSYS WRTG54S)My problem is how to access a device linked by lan cable to the second PC from the first PC. The LAN wired device on the 2nd PC is working fine and I can ping it ok. The internet connection on that PC is also working fine.

Reply: (edit)Easiest thing for you to do is give the camera an ip address valid on the LAN side. Take ip off LAN interface on PC2. Select wireless and LAN card on PC2, right click and choose "bridge connections". You should now be able to access from other pc by ip. Assuming there is no fancy driver / apps on PC2 that you need to access the camera. Have Fun!!!

Reply: (edit)"Take ip off LAN interface on PC2." Sorry to be so dense but what doies this mean? If I create a Bridge between the Wireless and the LAN on PC2 I lose Internet connectivity and am unable to reach the camera IP from PC1. Thanks for your help.
