Yes! All you need is a wireless router. Connect the wireless router to your LAN then your 2 Laptop can be wirelessly access to your LAN and internet through the router.

Good luck

Thanks for quick response, now as a newbie I have another question.I have DSL being installed, do I have to get a hub/switch or something to hook up to th eDSL modem before it goes into the LAN? Or does the Modem just route right into the LAN and then I hook up the Wireless router to the LAN?Thanks for any help.

No! the router will do the job. If you own the LAN then just purchase a broad band router (wireless). Normally most broad band router will handle the wire/wireless ports (Mine have 4 hardwire ethernet ports on the router itself). All you need to do is move you existing LAN to a new router (if you have less than 4 pcs on your existing LAN).

Good luck

I tried this approach and it didn't work. The computer that was hard wired into the wireless router would not see any of the wireless computers in the network. All of the wireless computers worked fine. I thought it was just me, but my brother had the exact same problem at his house, as did someone at work.

The guy at work told me you cannot have a wired computer see a wireless network even on the same router and that if I want to have the wired PC see the others I'll have to buy a wireless ethernet card for it. He said buying a new wireless card fixed his problem.

I had hoped (or still hope for that matter) that this isn't the case, but from my experience it is

I have a wired and wireless network - desktop hardwired to router and laptop wireless. It works great. You do need a NIC card for the wired computer though.

Yes, I have 3 hardwired PCs and a wireless access point connected to a router. The access point serves a 'distant' PC with a wireless PCI card and my laptop with a wireless card - all work fine.

If I understand the first post correctly, you want to network the computers using Ethernet and WiFi at the same time. In Linux it can be accomplished using EQL, or another newer method of which I've forgotten the name, either will emulate a single very high-speed connection by effectively merging the two access methods (in your case WiFi and Ehternet) into one connection. I'm not sure if this can be accomplished in Windows.
