keep getting disconnected

I have win xp pro, dlink gaming router, dlink nic, and SBC. I have alreayd called to ask them if there is somthing wrong with there network and they said no. i keep getting disconnected every like 5min. it seems to only be stable if im runing a viruse scan...i know its weird. everything is up to date and stuff so im not sure what is going on.

You may want to try going to start/control panel/ classic view/ system/ hardware tab/ device manager/ network adapters/ right click on dlink NIC/ properties/ power management tab/ make sure "turn this device off to save power" is not checked. 80% chance that is the problem.
