On my Inspiron 8600 (laptop) I have been running wireless for some months. Apart from some trouble with my wireless phone in the beginning it has been working fine. But all of a sudden, the connection keeps going down; it is up for about a minute, it goes down, sometimes it comes back for a few minutes, somtimes not, then I lose it and so on.

Have a d-link DI714P+, the WLAN on laptop is Intel Pro mini PCI 2100. Have upgraded all firmware and drivers. Have reinstalled drivers for WLAN card too. Since the last reinstall, it does not seem to be working at all. Oh, and I use the Intel utility for the network profile, not the wireless network utility.

I cannont see that something has changed that could cause the dramatic deterioration in connectivity. It just happened suddenly. No new hardware installed, no new applications. When I scan for networks, I can see two others than my own, but those have been there since I first got my router. Sometimes I see only those two other networks, sometimes none, sometimes mine is there too. When i check the router via a hard wired pc, the wireless seems to be ok.

I also use mac filtering and Wep encryption. I have noticed repeated scans of port 135 on router recently, but I can't see any relevance in that?
