My administrator in our office he is a full of s---! He implemented a lot of restrictions in my computer system ie., disabling the access on the regedit through the run command, i cannot even change my wallpaper, screensaver and download. ggrrr!!totally boring. Well, i dare not trying to challenge him but he's attitude really sucks! Can anyone of you guys whom i'll bet better than him can help me how to access my regedit in anyways. PLEASE!!!

He probably removed regedit.exe from the machine. Get it from another, put it on a floppy, and run a:\regedit.

if you can't figure out how to access regedit on your own (or copy it from somewhere else), he's right - you probably should be restricted. Administrators have regulations for a reason, moron.

I can see the idiots that posted to try and help you know as little as you do! Doesn't that say anything to you? I agree with "n" completly.
If it pops up a message that says "registry editing has been disabled" then it doesn't matter what program you copy over, you aren't going to be editing the registry unless you know how to remove restrictions.
Why should we care if you are bored of the background? This is a tech support site not a wanna-be computer hacker site. No one here wants to help you impress your friends or get to blocked sites. Try somewhere else, or better yet, figure it out on your own.

There are many companies implementing the restrictions on regular users because they poke around and change settings that create havok and also these restrictions help create an environment that is easier to reproduce as we (IT people) have to rebuild these machines sometimes and its easier to do this from an image file which generic to all people concerned.

might I suggest using Poledit if you can find a copy... Its a policy editor, works very nicely to change policy configuration

Don't you know that screen avers and that can cause problems with networking. AND can be the cause of losing files.

Heh sounds simple. All you do is make a boot disk with another pc. add the file edit.exe to the disk as well its located in c:\windows\command\ . In notepad or a text editor type these lines.
a:\edit.exe
save the file on the floppy as autoexec.bat
If the pc boots a then c this method will work. it will open up a text editor and then you goto your bosses autoexec.bat and get rid of the line that startes the program such as run c:\fort\fortress.exe etc etc... then after you remove it save the autoexec.bat file and you'll be unrestricted. Another way is to use winzip. You can run exe's via winzip its like a tunneling method. But the disk is the best way to get rid of the accual program causing the inconvieniance.a:\re
