You should tell us your OS...

Some monitoring tools come with windows OS's. You can tell who's connected and which file they are using and you can even disconnect them.

You can also buy a network monitoring programs, but they are expensive and you'd have to know what to look for...doesn't sound like you want to do that.

There is a free LAN monitoring software you should be able to find with a google search...

What's Up Gold v6...

We used at in a Network Monitoring and Performance class I took at the University...


Sorry, but I no longer have the information as to where we downloaded it from...

try this,, in a ms dos window of w98 type "netstat" and it should list all network activity.
